District 8, Somerset KYTC crews are battling extreme conditions

Update at 6:15amCT McCreary County reports several downed trees; KYTC facility at Albany, Clinton County, has no power

KY Transportation Cabinet, District 8, Somerset, KY

State highway crews across District 8 are battling tough road conditions with the lasted round of winter weather.

As of 7 am, roads are extremely slick and hazardous.




McCreary County is also reporting several downed trees and our Clinton County facility has lost power.

Some areas are starting to see sleet/freezing rain change over to snow. Crews will continue to work around the clock treating routes.

Motorist are advised to avoid travel if possible.
