Creekside, roadside, ugly bridge side view from manor house on the Marshburn estate. The nearest treeline is on a bank of Pettit's Fork Creek. The 'mountain' top of photo rises above blacktopped Johnson School Road. The country lane - name??? - runs to Charles' Ugly Bridge, county-owned infrastructure which needs replacement, he says.

It's the Greater Gadberry equivalent of the Lincoln Bridge, though officially it has no name. Charles Marshburn calls it his "Ugly Bridge," because it made the list of bridges deemed to be in need of replacement. Old timers rightfully call it the Rollen Coomer Bridge after the long time resident of the road. It can be seen over yonder, dead center in the photo, under the giant Eastern Red Cedar, at the Johnson School Road 'Mountain,' fronting on John School Road.
