Charles Jessee, 83, formerly of Columbia, KY (1932-2016)

He was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, a former resident of Adair County, KY, and was living in Jefferson County, KY, where his final resting place will be, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Edward & Millie Sparks Jessee. His wife of over 62 years, Bobbie Janes Jessee, survives. He leaves 13 direct living descendants. retired from I. E. Dupont in Louisville, KY. He was a member of Virginia Ave United Methodist Church in Louisville, KY and was an Army Veteran.

Charles Jessee age 83 years of Louisville, KY formerly of Columbia, Ky. passed away Friday January 15, 2016 at Essex Nursing Home in Louisville, KY. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 12pmCT/1pmET, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY Visitation will be on Monday, January 18, 2016, from 1pm-6pmCT/2pm-7pmET, at the Funeral Home.



Charles Jessee, 83, formerly of Columbia, KY (1932-2016)


He was born on December 30, 1932. He was the son of the late Edward & Millie Sparks Jessee in Metcalfe County, KY. He died Friday, January 15, 2016, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 83 years, 16 days.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings Eulis Jessee, Kizzie Gilpin, Ruth Collins and a grandson, Donald G. McQueen.

Charles retired from I. E. Dupont in Louisville, KY. He was a member of Virginia Ave United Methodist Church in Louisville, KY and an Army Veteran.

He was the loving husband to Bobbie Janes Jessee, who survives, for over 62 years.

He is also survived by the following:
  • Their children: Judith "Judy" McQueen and Kenneth (Jana) Jessee

  • Grandchildren: Joseph A. Jessee, Patricia A. (Marus) Jacobs, Diana E. (William) Tandy, Joyanna L. (Clinton) Phelps, Malik, Madison, Devontae, Ty'Ron, William, Jr., Ta'Shawn, Nevaeh

  • Two sisters & one brother: Arleen Jessee and Edra Nell Collins, and John B. Jessee

  • Numerous nieces & nephews
