PAC validates 34 more signatures - total 859 of 1039 needed

Group now needs 180 validated signatures
Next previous story on Adair Wet-Dry - PAC has validated 825 of 1,039 needed signatures: 214 to go

By Ed Waggener

Adair County seems much closer to seeing a late March/early April Wet-Dry vote this morning. Thirty-four more signatures were validated by the PAC committee, Chair Shannon Sexton said yesterday after noon, putting the drive just 180 signatures away from enough to submit to County Court Clerk.

Sexton said the committee feels it could sail past the needed number, but at this point she said, they will add a comfortable cushion - may 100 extra names - for any possible mistakes.

Sexton said that validation is done on site in real time at PAC's 808 Jamestown Street Headquarters, and that is best for PAC, she said.
