Elizabethtown man arrested on child sex exploitation charges By Lt. Jeremy Murrell KSP Electronic Crime Branch ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (Wed 13 Jan 2016) - On January 12, 2016, at approximately 8:20pmET, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post 4 - Elizabethtown, arrested Albert D. Martinek Jr., 44, on charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Martinek was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Martinek's residence on January 12, 2016. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing. Martinek is currently charged with 20 counts of possession and 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. Martinek was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center, Elizabethtown, KY. Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
