PAC has validated 825 of 1,039 needed signatures: 214 to go By Ed Waggener "PAC volunteer validated count is up to 825 this morning," Shannon Sexton reported before 12pmNoonCT." That makes it 214 to go before the committee will have enough to submit to the Adair County Court Clerk. When the clerk validates the signatures, she will notify Adair County Judge Michael Lee Stephens, who has said that he will immediately order a special election, which can come no earlier than 60 days after the certification and no later than 90 days. The election must also be 30 days before the May 17, 2016 primary. Estimates are that the election will be late March or early April of 2016, if all goes as anticipated. Shannon Sexton said that validation may come really quickly. "We have several pages in the office yet to be validated," adding, "we'll get to those as time allows and update you."
