Robbie Phelps, 34, Georgetown, KY (1981-2015)

Robbie was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees and had attained his Rank I in education. He was a high school teacher having taught in both Mercer and Fayette Counties, and was a member of Salvisa Baptist Church, in Mercer County. He was the son of Mike & Rinnie Jo Fields Phelps, Richmond, KY, and the grandson of Evelyn Phelps and the late Harold Phelps of Adair County, KY.

Robbie Phelps, 34, of Georgetown, KY passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10amCT/11amET, Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, 425 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, KY, with Rev. Lester Tirey officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home 1110 Barnes Mill Road, Richmond, KY Committal service will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 3pmCT/4pmET, at the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Pallbearers will be Mike Phelps, Michael Phelps, Dr. Mike Geile, Jake Fields, James Frisby and Ray Woodyard.

He was born October 20, 1981 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, to Mike and Rinnie Jo Fields Phelps. He died Saturday, December 26, 2015, in Georgetown, KY, at the age of 34 years, two months, and six days.

Robbie was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees and had attained his Rank I in education. He was a high school teacher having taught in both Mercer and Fayette Counties, and was a member of Salvisa Baptist Church, in Mercer County.

In addition to his parents, Mike and Rinnie Phelps of Richmond, KY, he is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Layla Ann Phelps, of Frankfort, KY

  • One sister: Rebecca (Dr. Michael) Geile of Richmond, KY

  • One brother: Michael (Blair) Phelps of Lexington, KY

  • Paternal grandmother: Evelyn Phelps of Columbia, KY

  • Maternal grandmother: Normal Fields of Berea

  • and Paternal step-grandmother: Janet Phelps of Jeffersonville, Indiana

  • And eight nieces and nephews
Robbie was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Phelps and Bob Bruce Fields.
