Merl Drue Wiggins, Sr., 92, Gradyville, KY (1923-2015)

He was the patriarch of a distinguished Adair County family. Mr. Wiggins was a member of Columbia Christian Church, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving in World War II, a member of the American Legion and was retired from the oil industry. He was a native of Haynesville, LA, and a resident of Gradyville, KY, at the time of his death. His wife of 70 years, Rita Tullier Wiggins, survives. He leaves 12 direct living descendants spanning four generations.

Merl Drue Wiggins, Sr., 92, of Gradyville, Kentucky, died December 8, 2015 at 11:41pmCT, at his home.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11amCT, at Columbia Christian Church, 206 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Terry White and Bro. Raymond Martin officiating.

Merl Drue Wiggins, Sr., 92, Gradyville, KY (1923-2015)

He was born August 27, 1923, in Haynesville, Claiborne Parrish, LA. He was the son of the late D.E. and Carrie E. Trammell Wiggins. He died December 8, 2015, in Gradyville, Adair County, KY, at the age of 92 years, three months, and 11 days. Mr. Wiggins was a member of Columbia Christian Church, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving in World War II, a member of the American Legion and was retired from the oil industry.

Survivors include:
  • His wife of 70 years: Rita Tullier Wiggins of Gradyville, KY

  • One son: Merl (Patricia Willis) Wiggins, Jr., of Gradyville, KY

  • Two daughters: Carolyn Wiggins and Marsha Ann Wiggins both of Gradyville, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Merl Drue (Allison) Wiggins, III, Michael Dale (Tracy) Willis, Jr., Christopher Scott (Pascha) Wiggins all of the Houston, Texas area

  • Seven great-grandchildren: Joshua Wiggins, Adam Wiggins, Jacob Wiggins, Morgan Wiggins, Regan Wiggins, Travis Willis & Tess Willis
