Multivehicle crash in a work zone claims life of KYTC employee On Glasgow Road N of Scottsville. Second employee sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries Click on headline for complete story By Wes Watts, Public Information Officer KYTC District 3, Bowling Green, KY BOWLING GREEN, KY - (December 22, 2015) - A multivehicle crash has claimed the life of a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) employee and resulted in the injury of another. Titus Morris, 34, of Scottsville died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash. The other KYTC worker, Jeffrey Harrison, 56, of Scottsville was taken by Allen County EMS to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for non-life threatening injuries. The incident occurred this morning around 9:43amCT in the 1500 block of US 31-E New Glasgow Road just north of Scottsville in Allen County. The Kentucky State Police's preliminary investigation indicates that a bumper hitch trailer traveling south came loose and struck a northbound pickup truck. The collision caused the pickup truck to spin out of control and strike two KYTC workers that were on the Bays Creek Bridge conducting maintenance. "I am deeply saddened by the tragic accident that took the life of one of our state highway workers and injured another. On behalf of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, I ask for your prayers and support for the families, friends and colleagues who will need comfort during this difficult time," said Gov. Matt Bevin. "No one can prepare you for the tragic news of an employee fatality," Acting Secretary Mike Hancock added. "We offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of Titus Morris during this difficult time. We also wish Jeff Harrison a fast recovery." Titus Morris, a Highway Equipment Operator IV with the Allen County maintenance facility, was a 15-year employee of the cabinet. Jeffery Harrison started working for the Cabinet in July 2006. The last KYTC work-related fatality occurred in Magoffin County in January 2011. The crash is under investigation by the KSP Post 3 office in Bowling Green.
