Christmas lights tour 2015 By Linda Waggener and Geniece Marcum A tradition in our family is one of touring the region to discover the inventive and creative Christmas decorations that come with the season.The custom of lights for Christmas goes back a hundred years to the time when Christians used candles to light their homes in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Whether its called Christmas time or Christmastide or the Christmas season in a church or home, celebrating it signifies the belief in and celebration of the savior. Sometimes it's easy in the face of unrest and tragedies in the news to believe that we are losing our faith and belief, but a statistic heard this morning on Fareed Zakaria's GPS (Global Public Square) on CNN was comforting: 90% of Americans celebrate Christmas and most for the reason of Jesus Christ's birth.
