Wanda Gail Montgomery Pendleton, Adair Co., KY (1936-2015)

She was the daughter of the late Arlis L. Montgomery and Vela Cundiff Montgomery. Her childhood years were spent in the Ozark/Shiloh Community of Adair County. She was educated in Adair County, KY schools. She was the widow of Louis Glynn Pendleton, her husband of 58 years. She was a retired Commonwealth of Kentucky employee and was also retired as a self-employed owner of the House of Knives in Louisville, KY. Her final remains will be at Shiloh Cemetery, not far from her childhood home.

Wanda Gail Montgomery Pendleton, 79, of Shelbyville, KY, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Baptist Health LaGrange, LaGrange, KY.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Adam Norsworthy officiating. Burial in Shiloh Christian Church Cemetery, 239 Shiloh Cemetery Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Tuesday.



Wanda Gail Montgomery Pendleton, 79, Adair Co., KY (1936-2015)


She was a native of Adair County, Kentucky, born Wednesday, July 8, 1936. She was the daughter of Arlis L. Montgomery and Vela Cundiff Montgomery. She died in LaGrange, Oldham Co., KY, on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at the age of 79 years, five months, and 11 days.

She was formerly employed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and retired from self-employment with the House of Knives in Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlis L. Montgomery and Vela Cundiff Montgomery; a sister, Beatrice Montgomery' her husband of 58 years, Louis Glynn Pendleton; and a beloved daughter, Valerie Pendleton Norsworthy.

Left to cherish her memory are the following:
  • Her daughter: Debra Pendleton Oates (Jim) of Shelbyville, KY

  • Grandchildren, James M. Oates, Jr., of Marina Del Rey, CA; Jennifer Oates Janssen of Shelbyville, KY; Adam D. Norsworthy (Taylor) of Versailles, KY; and Kyle L. Norsworthy (Jennifer) of Milford, Ohio

  • Great-grandchildren: Nathaniel T. Oates, Levi T. Norsworthy, and Paxton V. Norsworthy, Caitlyn Shay and Jessica Shay.
