Costal Georgia, 50 - 19 Dec 2015 Third quarter surge lifts Lindsey Wilson Women's Basketball to 59-50 win at Coastal Georgia Next: Lindsey Wilson Women's Basketball hosts St. Mary-of-the-Woods (IN) 1pmCT, Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY By Chris Wells BRUNSWICK, GA (Sat 19 Dec 2015) - Malerie Martin scored a career-high 16 points to lead Lindsey Wilson women's basketball to a 59-50 win today over Coastal Georgia at Howard Coffin Gym. The Blue Raiders (11-2) overcame their second worst shooting game of the season (36.2 percent) to win for the fifth straight time. Trailing 26-25 at the half, after making just 8-of-29 shots in the first 20 minutes, Lindsey Wilson outscored the Mariners by 10 in the third quarter. Martin led the third-quarter surge with seven points as the Blue Raiders turned the deficit into a 47-38 lead heading into the final 10 minutes. After its cold-shooting first half, Lindsey Wilson shot 44.8 percent (13-of-29) after the break. Lindsey Wilson extended its lead to as many as 12 points in the fourth quarter before Coastal Georgia made one final run. The Mariners (5-7) closed within 56-50 in the final minute, but Lindsey Wilson made three of four free throws in the final half-minute to secure the 59-50 win. Kayla Richardson joined Martin in double figures with 14 points while Courtney Sandlin chipped in nine points off the Lindsey Wilson bench.
