Lonnie D. Allan Stone, 66, Adair Co., KY (1949-2015)

He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam, a member of Fellowship Lodge 681, F&AM in Anderson, IN, retired from General Motors in Anderson, Indiana after 30 years, and played professional bluegrass music from 1992-2002. He was a native of Adair County, KY and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Kenneth & Gaithey Ovalene Kearns Stone. His wife, Peggy Flatford Stone, survives. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Lonnie D. Allan Stone, 66, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 11:50amCT, at his home after an illness.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Robert Knight and Bro. Raymond Garrett officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with full military honors presented by V.F.W. Post 6097. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at the funeral home.

He was born Wednesday, October 26, 1949, in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Gaithey Ovalene Kearns Stone. He died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at the age of 66 years, 1 month, and 17 days.

He was a US Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam, a member of Fellowship Lodge 681, F&AM in Anderson, IN, retired from General Motors in Anderson, Indiana after 30 years, and played professional bluegrass music from 1992-2002. Survivors include:
  • His wife: Peggy Flatford Stone of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Leslie (Bobby) Morrison of Columbia, KY

  • Two sons: Matt (Brittany) Stone, Dustin (Brittany) Stone all of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Kenneth Stone, Jr., of Anderson, IN

  • One sister: Sandy McGowan of Russell County, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Several other relatives and friends
