Glenna Mae (Sandy) Mitchum, 81, Adair Co., KY (1933-2015)

She was a member of a large, highly regarded South Adair County, KY family. She was a member of Fairview Separate Baptist Church & a homemaker. She was a native of Otero County, CO, and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of her death in Greensburg, KY. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Laretta Sollack Wright and the widow of Charles Ernest "Mitch" Mitchum. She leaves 20 direct living descendants.

Glenna Mae "Sandy" Mitchum, 81 years formerly of the Fairplay Community passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 4:30amCT, at the Golden Living Green Hill Manor in Greensburg, KY.

Funeral services will be Wednesday December 16, 2015 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Gerald Reliford the officiating clergy. Interment will be in McClister Cemetery, 4138 Fairplay Road, Fairplay, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the funeral home.



Glenna Mae (Sandy) Mitchum, 81, Adair Co., KY (1933-2015)


She was the daughter of the late Roy and Laretta Sollack Wright. She was born December 18, 1933 in Fowler, Otero County, CO. She died Sunday, December 13, 2015, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 25 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ernest "Mitch" Mitchum on February 7, 2014 also preceded in death by a brother Arthur Wright.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Mike Mitchum and wife, Amy, of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Tanna Vance and husband Barry of White House, TN

  • Grandchildren: Michael Mitchum and wife Tiffany, Mary Burton and husband Levi, Megan Fillmore, Benjamin Fillmore, Grace Fillmore, Kyle Fillmore, Erica Spillman and husband Daniel, and Courtney Vance

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • Caregivers at Golden Living Green Hill Manor
She was a member of Fairview Separate Baptist Church & a homemaker.
