Mrs. JoAnn Allison Durrett, 76, Greensburg, KY (1939-2015)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was baptized at the South Campbellsville Baptist Church at the age of 11, and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. Mrs. Durrett was also a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Post 124 Auxiliary. She was a native of Adair County, KY, the daughter of the late Joe Ernest Allison and Nellie Catherine Pike Allison. She leaves nine direct living descendants.

Mrs. JoAnn Allison Durrett, age 76 of Greensburg, KY, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Greensburg.

The funeral services for Mrs. JoAnn Allison Durrett will be conducted at 1pmCT, Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 205 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in Green County Memory Gardens, Summersville, KY. Visitation will be 3pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, and after 7amCT, Wednesday at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Don Ingram, Brock Bowman, Shawn Inabnitt, Bobby Pruitt, Justin Durrett, and Jeremy Durrett.

Honorary pallbearers: Donald Durrett, Bobby Durrett, and Billy Keltner.

Mrs. JoAnn Allison Durrett, 76, Greensburg, KY (1939-2015)

She was born Thursday, March 9, 1939, in Adair County KY, the daughter of Joe Ernest Allison and Nellie Catherine Pike Allison.. She died Saturday, December 13, 2015, in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 76 years, nine months, and four days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was baptized at the South Campbellsville Baptist Church at the age of 11, and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. Mrs. Durrett was also a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Post 124 Auxiliary.

She united in marriage to Jack D. "J.D." Durrett on January 16, 1959 who preceded her in death on March 22, 1994. She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law: Rodney and Rhonda Durrett of Huntsville, AL; and Ricky and Jo Durrett of Tompkinsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Allison Durrett of Huntsville, AL; Anna Durrett of Carbondale, IL; Amber Pruitt of Green Co. KY; Laura Inabnitt and Brock Bowman of Tompkinsville, KY

  • Two great grandchildren: Kody Pruitt and Rebekah Pruitt of Green Co. KY

  • One sister: Lois Nadine Russell of Parker, CO
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse Bowman; and a brother, Kenneth Lee Allison. Send condolences to the family of Mrs. JoAnn Allison Durrett.

Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to be made to the Parkinson's Foundation and can be made at the funeral home.
