Still plenty of time to be part of our Christmas Card Village!

The Adair Heritage Association and the Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who have created and placed a Christmas Card in our Village on the square. There is still plenty of room for more cards!

Cards are still being registered and interest is high so be on the lookout for several more cards soon. We do still ask that your card be registered at the library and we even have a spill over village ready if necessary. We appreciate the input of the idea from Ronnie Holt and Barry and Mary Anne Loy.

A lot of families have taken advantage of the photo op with their children. Others have walked around our square and taken pictures of the cards themselves.

Again, night time and the warmer weather has brought out many people.

Some were postcard production challenged. That's changing

We realized that the cards would be quite different from the Squarecrows but wanted to have something to make the square unique and inviting for Christmas.

The timing of the making of the cards was difficult for some as it is during the busiest time of year for many.

The reason we didn't offer a prize this time is because the majority of Squarecrow creators said that they did not make them for a prize but to be a part of something fun, entertaining and enjoyable for the community.

More cards are being placed daily and we hope more will be placed, but this was something many of us didn't really know how to make and takes a different skill set than the Squarecrows.

But, these cards have again sparked our community's interest, caused our square to be visited and enjoyed by Adair Countians as well as others and has helped our local economy as the wood and supplies have been purchased locally.

All in all a winning combination! And, ideas are being gathered for next year's Christmas Card Village that we expect will have many more cards. We also expect we'll figure out how to be able to have more lighted ones. I do love our square...so enjoy the Christmas Card Village and Merry Christmas!
