Alice Murray, 77, Adair County, KY (1938-2015)

Mrs. Murray was a member of the New Concord Church and had worked at Russell Sportswear and was a homemaker. She was a native of Hickman, KY and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of her death. She was the matriarch of a large, respected family and leaves 31 direct and three step living descendants.

Alice Murray age 77 years of Columbia passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 6:15pmCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab in Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with Bro. Willard Parson the officiating clergy. Interment in the Murray-Todd Cemetery Columbia, KY. The family will receive friends from 10amCT, Saturday until the funeral hour at 2pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Alice Murray, 77, Adair County, KY (1938-2015)


She was born October 6, 1938 in Hickman, Fulton County, KY the daughter of the late Joe and Lurline Hasty Roberts. She died Thursday, December 10, 2015 in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 77 years, two months, and four days. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother and by three sisters. She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Randy Murray and wife Debbie of Columbia, KY' amd Tommy Murray and wife Wanda of Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Jena Chumbley of Columbia, KY; and Rhea (Ree AH) and Chris Whitlock of Jamestown, KY

  • Three step children: Larry Murray and wife; Barbara of West Chester, Ohio; Joyce Redmon and husband David of Russell Springs, KY; and Judy Kay Higginbotham and husband James of Russell Springs, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren

  • Sixteen great grandchildren

  • and one great grandchild

  • One brother: Charlie Roberts of Hickman, KY
