KSP Post 15 continues investigation into Grayson Co. fatality Latest finding is that Sheriff Norman Chaffins fired weapon which struck suspect, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Jeff Gregory, Public Information Officer Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY LEITCHFIELD, KY - (Thu 10 December 2015) - Investigators from Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown are currently investigating an officer involved shooting in Grayson Co. On Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at approximately 2:00 EDST, Grayson Co. Sheriff Norman Chaffins and Grayson Co. S.O. Major Corey Knochel responded to a report of a domestic disturbance with a shot fired at a residence located at 4099 Saint Paul Road. When they arrived they were met in the driveway by a male suspect with a firearm advancing toward them. Sheriff Chaffins fired his weapon three times striking the suspect. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson Co. Coroner. The incident is still under investigation by KSP Post 4. This story was posted on 2015-12-11 09:19:55
