Pauline Hammonds, 88, Columbia, KY (1927-2015)

Mrs. Hammonds was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hazard, KY. She served the church in a variety of positions which included; church secretary, Bible school director, Sunday school director, operator of the church kindergarten. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed needle work. She was a native of Blackey, KY, and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Polly Roark Dunn and the widow of James Hammond. She leaves three direct living descendants.

Pauline Hammonds, age 88 of Columbia, Ky formerly of Hazard, KY passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:10pmCT, at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Columbia, KY.

Funeral service will be Monday December 7, 2015 at 7pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson the officiating clergy. Interment in the Rest Haven Memorial Garden in Hazard, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, on Monday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Pauline Hammonds, 88, Columbia, KY (1927-2015)


She was born November 25, 1927 at Blackey, KY. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Polly Roark Dunn of Perry Co. KY. She died Friday, December 4, 2015, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 88 years, nine days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hammonds in 2001 and one grandson, Kevin Hammonds in 2003.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her son: Danny and wife Diane Hammonds of Columbia, KY

  • One granddaughter: Jenny Burton of Columbia, KY

  • One great grandchild: Preston Burton

  • One sister: Mary Emma Warwick of Louisville, KY
