She was a native of Breeding, KY, and the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She was the daugher of the late James Cohen and Josephine Stotts McKinney and he widow of Marshall Wheeler. She leaves 52 direct living descendants.

Onie Mae Wheeler, 75, of Columbia, Kentucky, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 12:49amCT, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral service, Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Elbert Hadley officiating. Burial will be in McClister Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Wednesday, December 2, 2015.



Onie Mae Wheeler, 75, Adair Co. KY (1940-2015)

She was born July 12, 1940, in Breeding, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late James Cohen and Josephine Stotts McKinney. She died Tuesday, December 1, 2015, in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 75 years, four months, and 19 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Wheeler; one son, Michael Wheeler; and one daughter, Lois Jean Wheeler

Survivors include:
  • Five sons: Marshall Jr. "Spunky" Wheeler, Mark (Candy) Wheeler, Marty (Sue Ann) Wheeler, Mickey (Sara) Wheeler all of Columbia, KY; and Matthew Wheeler of Jamestown, KY

  • Four daughters: Cathy (Gene) Burton, Teresa (Fred) Corbin, Vonda (Tony) Derman all of Columbia, KY; and Jacqueline (David) Wheeler of Branson, MO

  • Two sisters: Carlene Smith of Columbia, KY; and Inis McKinney of Campbellsville, KY

  • One half-brother and one half-sister: Ryman and Faye,

  • Twenty-one grandchildren

  • Twenty-two great-grandchildren
