Mayor Hardwick nominates Jimmy Harper for CAUD board

In letter dated 23 Nov 2015 to Public Service Commission

By Ed Waggener

Columbia Mayor Curtis Hardwick nominated former Columbia Utilities Superindent Jimmy Harper to fill the vacancy on the Columbia Adair County Utilities District Board of Commissioners vacant since the Public Service Commission declared the seat formerly held by Commissioner Rudy Higginbotham, vacant.

Larry Russell Bryant had been recommended by former Adair County Judge Ann Melton for the seat, and was approved by Fiscal Court, but their action did not fall within the 90 day period the Court has to fill a seat after it becomes vacant.

In the letter to the Public Service Commission, a copy of which is linked to this story, Mayor Hardwick cites Mr. Harper's tenure as Superintendent of Grounds at Lindsey Wilson College for four years and his 22 years as Superintendent of Columbia Utilities.
