He was a former truck driver for Pyles Concrete and a farmer. He was a member of large, highly respected South Adair County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Coy & Lucy Branham Claywell. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

Ralph Willis Claywell, 78, of Columbia, KY, died Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 2:05amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab, Columbia.

At Ralph's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held later. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY is in charge of arrangements.



Ralph Willis Claywell, 78, Adair County, KY (1937-2015)

He was born September 4, 1937, in Breeding, Adair County, KY, to the late Coy and Lucy Branham Claywell. He died in Columbia, Adair County, KY, Sunday, November 22, 2015, at the age of 78 years, two months, and 18 days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers; Sue Ann, Herbert & Donnie Claywell. He was a former truck driver for Pyles Concrete and a farmer. Survivors include:
  • One son: Justin Claywell of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Selenia Wells of Burkesville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Ashley Claywell Burns, Kristy Claywell, Jenna Claywell, Jacqueline Wells, and Hannah Wells

  • One great-grandchild: Chloe Lanz

  • Three brothers: George R. Claywell of Arkansas; Rhymon "Shorty" Claywell of Russell Springs, KY; and Lindell Claywell of Lexington, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and other relatives
