Jaycees Annual Radio Auction will be Nov 23 and 25

By Greg Thomas

The Adair County Jaycees' Annual Radio Auction will be simulcast on 93.5 WAIN and 92.7 WHVE on Monday, November 23 and Wednesday, November 25, 2015, from 6pm to 10pmCT each night.

Proceeds raised will be used to purchase food and toys for the less fortunate during the holiday season in Adair County.

If you or you know of anyone that needs assistance you can contact Jamie Hadley at 270-250-3075. The Jaycees work with other groups in the community to be able to help as many as we can so no one might be left out. The last date to contact Jamie is December 9 so we can have time to make sure we get items ready to hand out.

In 2015 the Adair County Jaycee's assisted over 80 families during the holiday season which meant we helped over 160 to 240 people in the community with your donations and purchases.

Funds raised are also used throughout the year to help with families that lose their home in a fire. Cynthia Rowe takes care of this year round. Another community event that the Jaycee's put on that utilizes funding from this auction is the Easter Egg Hunt that is free for the community and has three to four hundred children attend.

If you've never participated in our auction the way it works is you call in and bid on items and then go to Flowers-N-Things and pay for your item you purchased by December 11. Some items will be at Flowers-N-Things but some items you'll pick a slip up and go to the business that donated it and pick your item up.

The Jaycees are still taking donation of items or cash and if you'd like to donate an item to be auction contact Jennifer Cater at 270-634-1649 or any Jaycee.

More phone numbers will be given out the nights of the auction but a number to call the nights of the auction is 270-378-1885.

The Jaycees would like to thank everyone that has donated and plan on bidding on items that will help us and your community out during the year.
