Help us turn our square into a living Christmas Card Village! To help the Adair Heritage Association and the Chamber of Commerce turn Downtown Columbia into a Christmas Card Village, contact one of Santa's Elves at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Or just call the the library at 270-384-2472. Let's make our square special and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! By Ellen Zornes Hey, Christmas on your mind? Then help the Adair Heritage Association and the Chamber of Commerce turn our Square into a life-sized Christmas Card Village! Well, child sized village anyway. We invite any business, church, school, organization, family or individual to help us make the square 'come alive' with Christmas greetings. Simply get a 4-foot by 4-foot sheet of plywood (that’s approximately half a sheet), paint the wood, and then paint your Christmas Card on it. It'd be great to cut out a place for a child's face to show through, making the child part of the card and wonderful for photo ops. Then just add your Christmas greeting and your group's name. These Christmas Cards will be placed in the green space around the Historic Courthouse, 500 Public Square, and the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY, the week before the Christmas Parade. And remember, these will be outside so they’ll need to be secured to the ground and weatherproof. This story was posted on 2015-11-19 13:43:23
