Countywide CAUD Boil Water Advisory Issued Wed 18 Nov 2015

UPDATE Thursday Morning: It is unclear at this time how local businesses are being affected by the Boil Water Advisory, how local suppliers are coping with bottle water demands, and at this time, 5:46amCT, we have heard only that the Adair County School District is in session, that the District's Thanksgiving Dinner will be served, that all health precautions are met, and that an adequate supply of bottled water is on hand. WE WILL POST RELEVANT NEWS and announcements from the CAUD District as quickly as received.- EW

Date Issued: 11/18/2015. Time Issued: 12:30pmCT. Received 12:32pmCT. Posted on CM 12:46pmCT.

A COUNTY WIDE BOIL WATER ADVISORY is in effect for consumers of Columbia Adair Utilities District. The advisory has been issued due to a line break.

Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure.

Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using.

This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality.

Columbia/Adair Utilities District employees Adam Darnell, Phillip Richard and Josh Hatcher are working to repair the main line leak on Hwy 55 North. We hope to have the repairs completed as soon as possible. The leak happened on our 18" line which brings water into our system from the Water Plant. We want to remind our customers to boil their water during this time until the boil water advisory is lifted, which could take up to 24 hours. - Jennifer Carter
