Leland Ballenger, 84, Russell County, KY (1931-2015)

He was farmer and a native of Jamestown, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Cellie & Mary Jane Lawless Ballenger and the widower of Eleanor Susie Moore Parrish. He leaves 40 direct, spanning four generations, and two step- living descendants.

Leland Ballenger, W. Cumberland Avenue, Jamestown, KY, died Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 11:30pmCT, at his home.

The funeral service for Mr. Leland Ballenger will be at 11amCT, Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the H.E. Prutt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Pastor Michael Patton officiating. Burial will be in Parrish Cemetery, Albany, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Friday, November 20, 2015, at the funeral home.



Leland Ballenger, 84, Russell County, KY (1931-2015)

He was born April 13, 1931, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Cellie Ballenger and the late Mary Jane Lawless Ballenger. He died Saturday, November 14, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 84 years, seven months, and four days.

He is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Patty (Donald) McKinney, Valloia,IN; and Marilyn (Phil) Patton, Brownstown, IN

  • Two step sons: Rick (Tammy) Parrish and Rod Parrish, both of Albany, KY

  • Three brothers: Johnny Ballenger, Russell Springs, KY; Lindsey Ballenger, Jamestown, KY; and Gary Ballenger, Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Alene Pennington, Dayton, Ohio; and Paulette Stoyell, Shepherdsville, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Twenty-three great grandchildren

  • Six great great grandchildren

  • A best friend of the families: Linda McGinnis
He was preceded in death by the following: His parents, his wife Eleanor Susie Moore Ballenger; companion Inez Parrish, sister Betty Lou Stearns, two brothers, Glen and Leonard Ballenger; daughter Carolyn Wallsmith; and a great grandson.
