Effie Tyra Oliver, 80, Eli, Russell Co., KY (1935-2015)

She was a homemaker and a member of Paducah Avenue Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio. She was a native of Jackson County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Godfrey & Mafrey Lainhart Tyra. Her husband Enoch Oliver, Russell Springs, KY, survives. She leaves nine direct living descendants.

Effie Oliver, 80, of Eli Community of Russell County, died Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.

Funeral service for Effie Oliver will be 10amCT, Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richie Curtis, Bro. Elvis Tucker, and Bro. Donald Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 6pm-8pmCT, Thursday, November 19, 2015. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Sunshine.

She was born August 18, 1935 in Jackson County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Godfrey & Mafrey Lainhart Tyra. She died Monday, November 16, 2015, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 80 years, two months, and 27 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Paducah Avenue Baptist Church in Hamilton, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Harrison; and two brothers, Jesse Tyra and Benjamin Tyra.

Survivors include the following:
  • Husband: Enoch Oliver, Russell Springs, KY

  • Daughter: Loleta (A.G.) Whittle, Springhill, TN

  • Son: Enoch Oliver, Jr., Hamilton, Ohio

  • Four grandchildren: Chrystal (Daniel) Schwartz, Springhill, TN; Bryan Whittle, Springhill, TN; Ryan Adam Shaver, Ohio; and Enoch Zachery, Ohio

  • Three great grandchildren: Byron Whittle, CA; Chase Schwartz, Springhill, TN; and Jackson Lee Shaver, Ohio
