Columbia Police win foot chase on Oak Street

Officers were attempting to serve warrant of arrest, when 28-year old subject fled. Officers were fleeter of foot and captured him in a field adjacent to Ashley Court on Russell Creek. He now faces additional charges. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail, Columbia, KY.

On Sunday, November 15, 2015, at approximately 4:35pmCT, Columbia Police Officers Jamie Cole and Josh Brockman were attempting to serve a Warrant of Arrest in the 200 block of Oak Street in the limits of Columbia, KY



Upon approaching residence a male subject identified as Jonathon Bailey, 29, of Columbia fled on foot.

A foot pursuit ensued and Bailey was apprehended in a field adjacent to Ashley Court on Russell Creek, KY.

Bailey was charged with 1) Fleeing and Evading Police 2nd Degree. 2) Giving Police Officer False Name. 3) Flagrant Non Child Support.

Bailey was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail, Columbia, KY, by Ofc. Jamie Cole. Columbia Police were assisted by Adair County Sheriff's Deputy Adam Cravens

Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. An individual charged by police or in a warrant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
