MSC Volleyball: FINAL tonight 14 Nov 2015: LWC v Georgetown LWC Volleyball cruises past CU 3-0 in MSC Tournament Semifinals Next: MSC Volleyball Finals: Lindsey Wilson v. Georgetown (KY) at 2pmCT, Sat 14 Nov 2015 at South Warren High School, 8140 Nashville Road (Campus) Bowling Green, KY By Charles Balcom News from Lindsey Wilson College BOWLING GREEN, KY (Fri 13 Nov 2015) - The No. 2-ranked and top-seeded Lindsey Wilson volleyball team took down fifth-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) in straight sets 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-10) on Friday night in the Mid-South Conference Tournament semifinal round at South Warren High School. The Blue Raiders (32-3) now face second-seeded and No. 11-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday at 2pmCT in the championship game. Georgetown earned a spot in the finals after beating St. Catharine (KY) 3-0 in the other semifinal matchup. Lindsey Wilson racked up an impressive .358 attacking percentage in the win while limiting the Tigers to just a .073 mark. The Blue Raiders challenged the Tigers (20-15) all night with their height as they out-blocked Campbellsville 5-1. A trio of Blue Raiders hit well above .400 in the win. Carol Siqueira posted a double-double with 17 kills and 10 blocks while amassing an attacking percentage of .469. Ragni Knudsen used her power on the right side to finish with 13 kills on 18 swings, recording a hitting percentage of .611. Carolynne Silva added eight kills with an attacking percentage of .467 from her middle blocker position. Makenzie Montano finished with a game-high 35 assists and eight digs, while Caitlyn Tino posted 10 digs. The Blue Raiders also scored using their serving abilities as they posted eight service aces on the night led by Mackenzie Reaves' three. The opening set started out close but the Blue Raiders quickly pulled ahead to a 10-4 lead. Lindsey Wilson continued to press the issue and built as much as a 10-point advantage at 22-12. Reaves recorded two of her aces during the run and the Blue Raiders took advantage of multiple attacking errors by the Tigers. Lindsey Wilson had trouble closing out the set as Campbellsville outscored the Blue Raiders 9-3 during the final 12 points, but the deficit was too large for the Tigers to overcome and Lindsey Wilson captured the set 25-21. Set two saw Campbellsville take their first lead of the night at 4-3, but it would be short-lived as Lindsey Wilson captured seven of the next eight points to take a 10-5 lead. The Tigers would get no closer than four points for the remainder of the set as Lindsey Wilson continued to cruise. A Campbellsville attack error and a kill by Jamie Jehne put the set to rest as the Blue Raiders won 25-13 to take the 2-0 lead. While the Blue Raiders hit .242 and .270 in the first two sets, the offense was still not firing on all cylinders. That all changed in set three. Lindsey Wilson exploded right out of the gate by grabbing a 12-4 lead in the third set. Siqueira, Knudsen, Jehne and Silva began crushing balls left and right, blasting them through the attempted Tiger blocks. Campbellsville scored just six more points in the set as the Blue Raiders finished the match on a 13-6 run to take the set 25-10. Lindsey Wilson finished with an impressive .640 attacking percentage in the final set. The Blue Raiders held the Tigers to just 23 total kills on the night. Jana Kortas led the team with seven kills and 10 digs in the loss. Next: MSC Volleyball Finals: Lindsey Wilson v.
