Mr. George William "Bill" Urban, 68, a resident of the Green Hill Manor in Greensburg, KY formerly of Campbellsville, departed this life on November 7, 2015 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital, Greensburg, KY, after a long illness.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Urban on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11amCT/12pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718. The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 9amCT/10amET, Thursday, November 12, 2015, until time of service. In following with Mr. Urban's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded him after the services.

Mr. George William "Bill" Urban, a resident of the Green Hill Manor in Greensburg, KY, was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 9, 1947. He departed this life on November 7, 2015 in Greensburg, Green County, KY, after a long illness. He was 68 years, 6 months, and 29 days of age.

Mr. Urban was a former truck driver for the Concord Company and the Chicago Tribune Newspaper.
  • His long-time companion: Jean Shimek of Campbellsville, KY

  • Step-children: Christine Singleton and husband Jason, Daniel Shimek, and Sandra Price and husband Noel, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Albert Barker of Bowling Green, KY

  • Ten step-grandchildren

  • Three step-great grandchildren

  • And a host of other friends
