LWC's Montano on Academic All-District Volleyball Team The setter from Louisville, KY, has helped the Blue Raider volleyball team to a 28-3 record on the year and a No. 2 national ranking. By Charles Balcom COLUMBIA, KY – Lindsey Wilson sophomore student-athlete Makenzie Montano has been selected to the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) All-District Volleyball District 2 Team. Montano is one of just six volleyball student-athletes to be selected to the College Division First Team in District 2, which consists of Canadian, two-year, and NAIA institutions located in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Tennessee. The student-athletes selected to the teams are chosen based on their performances athletically and in the classroom. The setter from Louisville, KY, has helped the Blue Raider volleyball team to a 28-3 record on the year and a No. 2 national ranking. Montano leads Lindsey Wilson with 1,099 assists and is third on the team with 186 kills, hitting .466 for the season. She also has 278 digs and 34 blocks on the year. Montano ranks No. 20 in the NAIA assists per game (10.27) and No. 31 in total assists (1,099). She has guided the Lindsey Wilson offense to a .292 team attacking percentage, which is the third-highest in the NAIA. In the classroom, Montano is a communication major with a 3.89 grade point average. The first team all-district honorees advance to the Academic All-America ballot, where first-, second-, and third-team All-America honorees will be chosen later this month.
