COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College community will hold its annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon on November 12, 2015.
The luncheon gets underway at 11amCT on Thursday, November 12, 2015, in Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY. The luncheon is open to veterans and their spouses or a guest, along with veterans' widows and widowers. There is no charge to attend the luncheon, but guests should RSVP with the LWC Alumni Office at email@example.com or 270-384-8400.
This year's speaker will be 1963 LWC graduate Michael Kearns, who had a distinguished career in the Air Force. Kearns' Air Force career included flying 100 combat missions over Vietnam, earning a Distinguished Flying Cross. After retiring from the Air Force, he joined Lockheed Martin where he worked on development of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.
This is the 13th-annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon, which was started by the LWC National Alumni Association in 2003 as part of the college's centennial celebrations.
The annual event is not held on Veterans Day so it does not conflict with community celebrations on that day.
"It's great that we will have a Lindsey Wilson alumnus to give this year's keynote address at the luncheon," said LWC Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management Dean Adams, who is an LWC alumnus. "The Veterans Appreciation Luncheon is a highlight of our school year because it's an opportunity for the LWC community show its appreciation to the men and women who have sacrificed for our country. They have made this a truly great country."
LWC Veterans Appreciation Luncheon will be held at 11amCT on Thursday, November 12. The luncheon is free to all veterans, veterans' survivors and a guest. Guests should RSVP by contacting Lindsey Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 270-384-8400.
