Alpha Rader-Shoopman-Kickliter, Casey Co., KY (1925-2015)

She was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. She was an accomplished self-taught painter and homemaker. Alpha enjoyed sewing, canning and cooking for her family. She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of Lincoln County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Oscar S. and Berrilla Roberts Rader. She leaves 19 direct living descendants.

Alpha Rader-Shoopman-Kickliter passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford, KY. She was 89.

Graveside services are at 10amCT/11amET, Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Valley Oak Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Clark officiating; no visitation.



Alpha Rader-Shoopman-Kickliter, Casey Co., KY (1925-2015)

Born October 29, 1925 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S. and Berrilla Roberts Rader. She died Monday, October 26, 2015, at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 27 days.

She was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. She was an accomplished self-taught painter and homemaker. Alpha enjoyed sewing, canning and cooking for her family.

Survivors include the following:
  • A daughter: Jan Shoopman (and Ken) Binder of Danville, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Nine great-grandchildren

  • Three great-great-grandchildren
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Alvie Shoopman, Ed Hammersley, and Doug Kickliter; a son, George Gerald Shoopman; and two brothers, William Terrill Rader and Travis Rader.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Danville/Boyle County Humane Society in memory of Alpha Rader-Shoopman-Kickliter.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY.
