PSC requests documents in possible CAUD board vacancy

ColumbiaMagazine.com story(c)

The Public Service Commission's investigation into a possible Columbia/Adair County Utilities District vacancy pertaining to the appointment of Larry Russell Bryant is continuing.

The PSC's Jeff Derouen has requested the minutes of the Fiscal Court meeting at which former Commissioner Rudy Higginbotham was appointed. The request, in a letter to Clerk Lisa Greer with a copy to Adair County CJE Michael Lee Stephens, said, "We believe the approval would have occurred August 2010."

The letter requested a reply within 10 days of the letter, which was dated October 23, 2015.

If the PSC determines there is a vacancy, Mr. Bryant or any qualified person living in Adair County may seek the position. Already, at least one person, Sharon Shields-Smock, has been nominated for the vacant seat. That nomination was made in a letter dated October 20, 2015, by Marge Miller.
