Louella Richards, 89, Adair Co., KY (1925-2015)

She was born in Adair County, KY and will be returned to her native county for her final resting place. She was the daughter of the late George Russell & Mary Magdalene Cabbell Pierce and the widow of James Walter Richards. She leaves a great family, numbering 36 direct living descendants and other relatives centered around Orleans, IN, and the Breeding area of Adair County.

Louella Richards, 89 years of Orleans, Indiana formerly of Adair County, KY passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 10:35amET, at the Paoli Health and Living Community in Paoli, Indiana

Funeral service will be at 1pmCT, Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Darrell Landis officiating. Interment in the Harrods Fork Cemetery. The family request local visiting after 9amCt, Saturday until the funeral hour at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home


Louella Richards, 89, Adair Co., KY (1925-2015)


She was born November 28, 1925 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late George Russell & Mary Magdalene Cabbell Pierce. She died Tuesday, October 20, 2015, in Paoli, Orange County, Indiana, at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 22 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Walter Richards on May 23, 1989; by one son, Coy Richards; one brother George Richards; and two sisters, Elizabeth Richards and Maxine Richards.

Mrs. Richards is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Brenda Dugger and husband Walter of Orleans, Indiana

  • One son: Larry Richards and wife Patricia of Orleans, Indiana

  • One brother: James Russell Pierce of Edmonton, KY

  • Two sisters: Mattie Pearl Richards of Columbia, KY; and Martha Cundiff of Scottsville, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Fourteen great grandchildren

  • Ten great great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews and many friends
