Injury collision at KY 55 South & Veterans Bypass

Greensburg residents treated at scene and taken to Westlake Regional Hospital

Columbia Police Department investigates injury collision at Bypass intersection.

On Wednesday, 20 Oct 2015, at 12:13pm, Columbia Police Department was dispatched to an injury collision at the intersection of KY 55 south and the Veterans Bypass.



Preliminary investigation shows that a 2013 Ford Fusion operated by 76 year old Jewell Blakeman of Greensburg failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck. The Dodge truck was operated by 61 year old Ronnie Burton of Columbia, KY.

As a result of the collision Jewell Blakeman and her passenger Lynn Blakeman, 82, also of Greensburg were treated for injuries by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital . The collision was investigated by CPD Officer Charles Greer
