LWC Football stays at No. 1 for fourth-straight week

In NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll; Campbellsville is No. 22 this week

Columbia, KY (Mon 19 Oct 2015) - For the fourth week in a row, the Lindsey Wilson football team is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA according to the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll released by the national office on Monday. The Blue Raiders accumulated 338 total voting points, including 12-of-15 first-place votes to continue their stay atop the rankings.



Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 24-19 win over former No.18-ranked Faulkner (AL) on Saturday. The Blue Raiders outscored the Eagles 21-3 over the final two quarters to secure the come-from-behind victory. The win moved the Blue Raiders to 6-0 on the season for the first time in program history.

Lindsey Wilson is just one of four teams remaining in the NAIA with an undefeated record along with No. 6 Doane (NE), No. 7 St. Francis (IL) and No. 8 Reinhardt (GA).

Behind the Blue Raiders in the poll is No. 2 Southern Oregon with 323 points and two first-place votes, followed by No. 3 Morningside (Iowa) with 319 points and the final first-place vote. No. 4 Baker (KS) (296 points) and No. 5 Grand View (Iowa) (285 points) complete the top five.

Joining Lindsey Wilson in the poll from the Mid-South Conference West Division is No. 8 Reinhardt and No. 22 Campbellsville (KY). Faulkner now sits just outside the top 25 in the receiving votes category.
