She was a native of Woodford County, KY, and a resident of Jefferson County, KY at the time of her death. she was the daughter of the late George and Janie Brown Edwards, and the widow of Sherman Murphy. She leaves 21 living descendants, including one on the way.
Edith was a homemaker and member of the Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church.
