Von Price: Photos of Columbia bring back great memories

Comments re article 78350 Wishes there were time lapsed aerial views of Columbia

By Von Price

I totally agree with Ann Curtis about seeing photos of Columbia. They bring back great memories.

One of the things I love most about where I live now is the "Small Town."

The small town feeling brings back me memories of growing up in Columbia.

When I think of how much Columbia has grown and developed, it is amazing.

The younger generation would never understand what it was like then. Only two drive in restaurants. Circle-R and Jim Dandy and circling a round them and then doing the square around the court house.

We didn't have Taco Bell, Pizaza Hut, McDonalds, Long John Silver and others.

If we had all that, we would have thought we were living in a big city!

How times have changed.

One of the things I used to enjoy the most about going back to Columbia to see my parents was we always had to go to the original Circle-R to eat.

You could always count on Mr. Harper putting out good food. And always the best "Hoecakes." And the most beautiful pies you have ever seen. I have never been successful in getting my meringue to be that high and fluffy.

Oh, my those were the days!
I see it might be just a little cool there today. High 80's here.BR? Von Price, Englewood, Florida
