Jane Johnson, 81, Russell Co., KY (1934-2015)

She was a member of the Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a native of Russell County, KY, and will be laid to rest in her native county in the beautiful grounds of Bernard Cemetery. James King & Myrtie Gaskins Ford and the widow of Garlin Harrison Johnson. She was the daughter of the late She was the matriarch of a great family centered around Russell and Adair Counties in South Central KY. She leaves 92 direct living descendants.

Jane Johnson, 81, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. Funeral service for Jane Johnson will be 2pmCT, Sunday,October 11, 2015 at the Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. David Harmon officiating and special music by Kathy Casey. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Saturday, October 10, 2015, and 10amCT, Sunday at Bernard Funeral Home, 36 Ford7 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY. Interment in the Bernard Cemetery.



Active pallbearers: Keith Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Joey McFarland, Larry Bennett, Darris Bennett, and Leo Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers: Isiah Johnson, Isacc Johnson, and Trevor Johnson.

Jane Johnson, 81, Russell Co., KY (1934-2015)

She was born Saturday, June 30, 1934 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late James King & Myrtie Gaskins Ford. She died Thursday, October 8, 2015, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 81 years, two months, and eight days.

She was a homemaker and a member of Clear Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garlin Harrison Johnson; a son, Leonard Garlin Johnson; two grand daughters, Kristi McFarland Burton, Holly Denise Franklin Johnson; three grandsons, Roger Dean Johnson, Jimmy Wayne Johnson, and John McGuire; four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include the following:
  • Six children: Bobby (Vivian) Johnson, Russell Spring, KY; Judy (Floyd) Back, Jamestown, KY; Jimmie (Jean) Johnson, Columbia, KY; Diana (J.C.) McFarland, Russell Springs, KY; Sheba Wooldridge, Russell Springs, KY; and Lana (Roger) Wheat, Russell Springs, KY

  • Thirty grandchildren

  • Fifty-six great grandchildren
