Ralph Waggener: The Square Crows have brought us together

Thanks to everyone for the smiles on hundreds of faces from the man who's popular news letter is all about smiles
About: Ellen Zornes announces Peoples Choice Squarecrow Award

Columbia, KY (Wed 7 Oct 2015) - The Square Crows of Columbia have had to have a lot of work, planning and art to put them together.

The Pumpkin Butt, the children playing and even the scrawny lawyers creators put so much creative talent & effort into their Square Crows.

I could go on and on about how well this project has come together. Art ability has rarely ever shown as as well, in any community, anywhere, as this has.

Every one of the Square Crows are unique, very well thought out, and what is so amazing, is the great sense of humor each of them show.

Some how, it has caught on, so well that when you go into the post office, drink coffee with friends, and just spot an acquaintance on the street, you see smiles on faces and you don't have to say a word to know what they are communicating.

I have not seen this much effort from this many people in a long time!

This has to be one of the very best projects carried out here in way too long of a time!

Thank you goes out to all the many people who made this happen, and have brought our community together in such a positive way! - Ralph Roy Waggener

A little boy or another realistic Squarecrow?

2015-10-18 - Photo By Linda Waggener.
The little boy on the bench, Jaston Miller of Columbia, was drawn into the group of Squarecrows from Adair County Elementary School during Downtown Days. The art on the square has made it for yet another week with folks occasionally tweaking their Squarecrows. Lee Ann Jessie and I surgically replaced an arm that had fallen off one of them and Ellen Zornes reports that folks regularly stop by to update and perfect their work.
