No. 1 Lindsey Wilson Football returns home to face Cumberlands By David Gerhart, Lindsey Wilson College Columbia, KY – The No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team is back in action this weekend as they return home for the first time since September 19, 2015, to face Cumberlands (KY) on Saturday, at 12pmNoonCT at Blue Raider Stadium, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY. Lindsey Wilson is coming into the weekend with a record of 4-0 after they defeated Union (KY) on the road, 42-17. The Blue Raiders trailed 10-0 after the end of the first quarter, but scored 42 unanswered points to take a 42-10 lead. The Bulldogs scored late in the fourth quarter, but Lindsey Wilson came away with the victory. The Blue Raiders rushed for a total of 298 yards, which is their second most this season, as Josh Haney led the team with 97 yards on 15 attempts and punched in a pair of touchdowns. Dylan Beasely navigated the Lindsey Wilson offense with 150 passing yards and was 12-for-29 on passing attempts. Cumberlands comes into the contest with a 4-1 record on the season after defeating Bethel (TN), 59-7, at home. The Patriots got off to a quick start against the Wildcats, taking a 23-7 lead after the first quarter. After leading 44-7 at the half, Cumberlands recorded a safety and a pair of rushing touchdowns in the second half to secure the 59-7 win. The Patriots had a season best 525 total yards against Bethel, including a season-high 432 rushing yards. Hunter Lewis led the rushing attack with 105 yards on 15 carries and Kevin Claussen had 100 yards on the ground with 21 attempts. Mid-South Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, Wendall Williams, returned one kick for 75 yards and a touchdown. Williams also caught one pass for 50 yards and a touchdown.
