Mr. Willard Perkins, 81, Green Co., KY (1934-2015)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a self-employed carpenter, and as a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Marine Corp. He was as resident of Taylor County, KY, at the time of his death. He was born in Green County, KY, where he will be laid to rest in Risen Cemetery. He was the son of the late Jim Robert Perkins and Lora Close Perkins. He leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Mr. Willard Perkins, 81, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Willard Perkins will be conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 201 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Risen Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Bro. Tommy House will be officiating. Visitation is requested after 10amCT, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service. Pallbearers: Todd Perkins, George Perkins, Jr., Buck Milburn, Billy Joe Perkins, David Ray Perkins, and Larry Howell. Honorary pallbearers: Kevin Cantrell and Greg Cantrell.

Mr. Willard Perkins of Campbellsville, Taylor County, Kentucky, son of the late Jim Robert Perkins and Lora Close Perkins, was born on May 18, 1934 in Green County, Kentucky, and departed this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY. He was 81 years, four months, and five days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a self-employed carpenter, and as a veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Marine Corp.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Lee Devers Perkins in 1979.

Survivors include:
  • His beloved companion: Frances Cantrell of Campbellsville, KY

  • A son: James Willard Perkins of Illinois

  • Two daughters: Lora Perkins of Campbellsville, KY; and Teresa Perkins of Illinois

  • Four grandchildren: Manual Bermudez, Derek Contu, James Perkins, and Travis Douglass

  • Four great-grandchildren

  • A brother: David Perkins of Buffalo, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Perkins was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers: Elizabeth Crawley, Virgie Keenan, Georgie Perkins, George Perkins, Ray Perkins, Virgil Perkins, and Leonard Perkins.
