Jerome Harris, Jr., 92, Taylor Co., KY (1923-2015)

He had a 20 year career in the U.S. Navy, after which he worked for Shell Oil Company before retiring. He was a native of Carter County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Jerome G. and Maholy Katherine Wampler Harris. His wife, Pauline Harris, survives. He leaves nine direct living descendants

Jerome Harris, Jr., age 92, of Campbellsville died Saturday, September 19, 2015 in Louisville, KY.

There will be a graveside service at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Tuesday, September 22, 2015, in the chapel at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.



Jerome Harris, Jr., 92, Taylor Co., KY (1923-2015)


He was born January 25, 1923 in Carter County, KY. He was the son of the late Jerome G. and Maholy Katherine Wampler Harris.

After a twenty year career in the U.S. Navy, he worked for Shell Oil Company until retiring.

Besides his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by his isters, Nilace Bower, Emma Wampler and Mary Louise Wampler and a brother, Richard Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Harris of Campbellsville, KY, and the following:
  • Four children: Arlene Harris, Wade Harris and John Harris, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Beth Tischer of Oregon

  • Three grandchildren: Wendy Garrison, Randall Harris and Ezekiel Harris

  • Two great-grandchildren: Mary Ann James and Steven James
