Ralph Waggener: Grandson's books cost $200 at Silver Creek

Guest commentary re: Renewal of Superintendent Alan Reed's contract

By Ralph Roy Waggener
Editor/Publisher, Just for a Smile News

My oldest daughter,Sharon Waggener Green. is visiting and we have talked about school costs. Steven Green her son and my Grandson is attending Silver Creek High School in Sellersburg, Indiana and she told me that they spent around $200.00 for books for Steven. Andrew her oldest son. who is going to Purdue University now. had to pay for his books when attending Silver Creek High School, as well.

So it seems that students most everywhere pay for books and a lot just don’t use text books anymore.

If you do anything to make a school system better someone will be mad.

If someone gives you a million dollars it would make you mad because you should have been given 2 million dollars.

The more a leader does the more people fuss. The more a leader does the more that is expected of him, and the more people can find wrong about him; just sit on your rear hump and do nothing and the public will have nothing to complain about, because you have done nothing for to complain about!
