James Higdon presented interesting insight on Cornbread Mafia

By Robert Cumming

Author James Higdon from Lebanon presented an interesting insight on his 2012 book "Cornbread Mafia" Tuesday night at Lindsey Wlison's Slider Hall public lecture series. The book project was in development for several years and due to its controversial subject went through several publishers before going to print.

It was quite a task by the author to gain the trust of his subjects in order to tell their tale. The speaker later opened up the lecture for some lively questions and answers about his book experience. James Higdon is also a freelance news journalist most recently covering the Rowan County clerk Kim Davis office story for the Washington Post. - Robert Cumming
