Geneva Thomas York, 85, Burkesville, KY (1929-2015)

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY and of the Methodist faith. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Duke Thomas and Edna Traylor York and the widow of Fred York. She leaves 29 direct living descendants, spanning four generations.

Geneva Thomas York age 85 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has been chosen and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Geneva was born on October 08, 1929 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Duke Thomas and Edna Traylor York.She died Saturday, September 12, 2015, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and four days.

She was of the Methodist faith, and was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred York and one son, Charles Fred York, and one grandson.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Marty York of Marrowbone, KY, and Larry Sid York of Burkesville, KY

  • Two daughters: Barbara Anderson of Spartanburg, SC; and Debera Long of Campbellsville, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Sixteen great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren
