Rollin Depp Harbison, 97, Summer Shade, KY (1917-2015)

He was the patriarch of a large, highly regarded Summer Shade family. He was the son of the late Edgar and Laura Depp Harbison, and the widower of the late Willie Lee Harbison. He was a native of Summer Shade, KY, and a resident of the community at the time of his death. He was a farmer and a member of the Summer Shade Christian Church.

Rollin Depp Harbison, age 97, of Summer Shade, KY, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Metcalfe County Health Care, Edmonton, KY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 1pmCT, at the Summer Shade Christian Church, with Brother Bob Priest and David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, September 11, 2015, at 4pmCT at the McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summmer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, and on Saturday, September 12, 2015, after 7amCT, at the funeral home and after 10amCT, at the Summer Shade Christian Church until time of services.



Rollin Depp Harbison, 97, Summer Shade, KY (1917-2015)


Born October 7, 1917 in Summer Shade, Metcalfe County, KY, he was a son of the late Edgar and Laura Depp Harbison. He died Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Metcalfe County Health Care, Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY at the age of 97 years, 11 months, and two days.

He was the husband of the late Willie Lee Harbison.

He was a farmer and a member of the Summer Shade Christian Church.

Survivors include:
  • Two sons: Eddie (Patty) Harbison, Summer Shade, KY; and Danny ( Pat Morris) Harbison, Summer Shade, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Chris (Kelly) Harbison, Edmonton, KY; and Savannah Howell, Summer Shade, KY; and one step grand child, Shelly Mc Intyre, Summer Shade, KY;

  • Three great grandchildren: Carter Harbison, Maddie Harbison, and Cheyenne Howell

  • Two step great grandchildren: Lucas McIntyre and Sierra Garmon

  • One niece: Betty Jean Carey

  • One nephew: Steve Harbison
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Summer Shade Christian Church.
