By Marty Irby

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01) is pleased to announce a $40,000 grant by the Federal Aviation Administration through the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Tompkinsville-Monroe County Airport Board will receive these federal funds for the removal of obstructions in the runway approach and transitional surfaces.

"I am pleased to see Tompkinsville-Monroe County Airport receive these important federal funds," said Whitfield. "The improvements to the runway will provide the opportunity for growth and development within this community and benefit the surrounding region as well."
