Coy L. McGowan, 66, Jamestown, KY (1949-2015)

He worked at Fruit of the Loom until retirement. He was a born and died in Russell County, KY, a native of Russell Springs and a resident of Jamestown at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Audrey (Tucker) and Tulsey B. McGowan. His wife Gloria Kell McGowan, survives. He leaves 18 direct living descendants.

Coy L. McGowan 66,of Jamestown, KY passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services for Coy McGowan will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, at 10amCT on Thursday, September 10, 2015, with Bro . Richie Curtis officiating. Friends may visit after 5pmCT on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Jamestown City Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.

Coy was born in Russell Springs,KY on January 10,1949. He was a son of the late Audrey(Tucker) and Tulsey B. McGowan. He died Monday, September 7, 2015, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 66 years, seven months, and 28 days.

He worked at Fruit of the Loom until retirement.

Coy was the husband of Gloria (Kell) McGowan.

He is also survived by:
  • One son: Mike (Amanda) McGowan, of Jamestown, KY
  • Two sisters: Kay Shearer, of Jamestown, KY and Lana White, of Ashland, KY

  • Three brothers: Don McGowan, of Russell Springs, KY; and Drew McGowan and Limmy McGowan both of Jamestown, KY

  • Nine grandchildren

  • and eight great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by one son Reggie A McGowan, one grandson Jacob A. McGowan, one sister Char Wooldridge, and five brothers Chuck, Timmy, David, Doyle and Wnston McGowan.
